Effective Date: January 1, 2025 - Last Reviewed: May 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CalcMate at calcmate.org, operated by Mikhail Donchenko ("we", "us", or "our"). By using our calculators and related services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform immediately.
1. Nature of Service & Information Accuracy
CalcMate provides online computational tools and informational resources across mathematics, finance, health, physics, and related disciplines. While we apply validated formulas and reference standards from recognized bodies (including WHO, NIST, CODATA, and national regulatory authorities), the results generated by our tools are for informational and educational purposes only.
Our tools do not constitute professional advice of any kind - including but not limited to financial, medical, legal, tax, or engineering advice. Results should not be used as the sole basis for decisions with significant personal, financial, or health consequences. We strongly recommend verifying all output with a qualified professional before acting on CalcMate data. See our About page for a full description of our formula validation methodology.
2. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied. CalcMate disclaims all warranties including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected. Regulatory parameters (tax rates, insurance rates, legal thresholds) are updated periodically but may not reflect same-day legislative changes. Your use of the platform is at your sole discretion and risk.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits any warranty or liability that cannot be lawfully excluded or limited under applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction, including EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and applicable national consumer protection legislation.
3. Intellectual Property & Proprietary Rights
All content on CalcMate - including but not limited to computational algorithms, interface design, localized text, and original tool logic - is the intellectual property of CalcMate and is protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the calculators for personal, non-commercial, or internal business purposes.
You may not scrape, reverse-engineer, copy, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit our proprietary code, algorithms, or content without prior explicit written consent from [email protected]. Systematic automated access (bots, crawlers) that exceeds normal user-scale interaction is prohibited.
4. User Conduct & Constraints
By using CalcMate, you agree to:
- Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
- Refrain from any activity that disrupts, damages, or impairs the performance or availability of our servers, network infrastructure, or the experience of other users.
- Not use the platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose, including the submission of false or misleading information.
- Not circumvent any technical measures we implement to protect the platform or our intellectual property.
5. Third-Party Integrations & Advertising
CalcMate uses Google Analytics 4 for anonymized usage analytics and Google AdSense to serve advertisements. These services are operated by Google LLC and are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. CalcMate does not control and is not responsible for the practices of any third-party websites or services linked to or from our platform. We assume no liability for any loss or damage incurred through your interaction with third-party content.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CalcMate and its founder shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from: (a) your use of or inability to use the Services; (b) errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in computational output; (c) any reliance on information provided through the platform; or (d) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.
Where liability cannot be fully excluded under applicable consumer protection law (including, but not limited to, EU consumer protection directives or applicable national law), our total liability shall be limited to the amount you paid for the Services in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for free services, is zero). Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.
7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Latvia, without regard to its conflict of law principles. However, if you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that mandates the application of local consumer protection law, those mandatory local protections shall apply and prevail over these Terms to the extent required.
We encourage users to contact us directly at [email protected] before initiating any formal legal proceedings. We are committed to resolving disputes quickly and fairly through direct communication. For EU consumers, the European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform accessible at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The "Last Reviewed" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of CalcMate after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For formal inquiries, contact us at [email protected].
